Another birthday card.

Happy Friday to all my blogging friends. I can't believe it has been so long with no card from me. Life is a bit hectic and time is flying. Just making a few birthday cards and some swaps that I have committed to, and popping into a couple of blogs here and there. Just another week and I will have some time to craft. Even Christmas cards are just not happening. Anyway, here is a card I made for a special little girl. Our youngest grandaughter in NZ is turning 2 tomorrow (Saturday) and this is the card I made for Gabriella.
I hope I can remember what I did, as in my rush to post it I didn't make notes.
Paper: Ccut and folded a gatefold card with white cardstock and matted pink card onto that. I first ran this through the cuttlebug with the numbers folder, where I foiled the number 2 as she turnes 2.
Image: Stamped the WOJ Henry with cupcake onto watercolour paper and coloured it with a combination of pencilsa and distress inkpads. Put some glitter on the cupcake icing. Cut it with a Nellie Snellen MF die and inked the edges.
Sentiment was computer generated and put on with 2 butterfly brads.
I also decoreated the inside. Again used a NS die cutting out the computer generated message and again matted it onto pink. Punched out various flowers and assembled them with a pearl in the centre.
Family birthdays are almost over for the year, but need to get seriously stuck into Christmas cards.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We had some lovely rain with cool weather, now back to summer. Hope to be back soon

Birthday card - something different

Happy Monday to you all. The beginning of a good week we hope Getting lots of crafting done and in my case, scratching many items of my to do list. I made a birthday card for my granddaughter in New Zealand, which is a littl different. I decided on one that can be hung up having seen something on the Whiff of Joy tutorials a while back. I must apologise for the photo. The weather wasn't good, and I had to get the card into the post to reach NZ on time.
Card: I used a double sided card but unfortunately had no name and not sure where I got it. I cut 3 sizes with a rectangle Nestie. I also cut out a few different shapes with Nesties and Nellie Snellen MFD.
Image was one of the Magnolias. I am not very good at remembering which ones they are. Coloured Tilda with distress ink pads and added glitter for the stars.
On the centre card I stamped a sentiment with Just Rite stamps, but am really sorry it has not come out well. (This is what happens when one is in a hurry)
On the bottom card I glued a 6 that I had cut with my cuttlebug and "glittered"
Also punched some flowers with punches and layered them adding some pearls here and there for a bit of bling.
All 3 were glued onto a ribbon with a small ring attached at the top. It was fun to make a different birthday card.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead.

Bottle tag

Good afternoon from a very hot SA. The temp on the thermometer outside my kitchen window is currently on 30deg.C, and it is in the shade. Well at least it is midweek, so all is well. Today I have a tag, made for a PCP challenge. Seeing as we are only 50+ days from Christmas and I am way behind I thought I would at least have a tag done. This fits over a wine bottle and ideal when taking a bottle with for dinner or whatever. Very quick to make.
Paper: used green cardstock. I cut it 14cm long and 7cm wide. Scored a line at 7cm and folded in half. Punched a hole in the one side large enough to go over the neck of the bottle. Now this is where time and imagination come into play. I didn't have much time so made it simple. Cut DP 15cm x 9cm. and a piece of plain card same size.
I sandwiched the piece with the hole punched out between these 2 layers, and decorated the outside DP.
I used a burgundy card and punched out a Nellie Snellen MFD. and layered this onto my DP.
Image is from Country Crafts & rubber stamps a local company, coloured with distress ink pads and the berries coated with glossy accents.
Added a "Merry Christmas tag and 3 pearls to finish.
I will be making a few more of these. I got this idea from a blog but can't remember whose it was, so am sorry I can't give any credit for it.
Hope you all have a wonderful week wherever you are.
